Shi Li Xiang Lao Huo Tang, whose name translates to ten-mile fragrance old-fire soup, is a hawker stall at Albert Centre Market and Food Centre specialising in traditional Chinese slow-cooked soups. Old-fire soup, or lao huo tang, is a Cantonese tradition of simmering soups for extended hours to extract maximum flavour and nutritional value from the ingredients. The stall brings this time-honoured practice to the Bugis hawker scene, offering bowls of comfort that feel like home. The menu typically features a rotation of nourishing soup varieties prepared with carefully selected herbs, meats, and vegetables, each simmered until rich and flavourful. These soups are prized in Chinese culture for their health benefits and restorative qualities, making the stall a popular choice for those seeking a wholesome, warming meal. Available at accessible hawker prices, the soups suit everyone from health-conscious diners to those simply wanting something comforting and familiar. For a taste of traditional Cantonese soup culture in the heart of Bugis, Shi Li Xiang Lao Huo Tang delivers nourishment in every bowl. It is a quiet reminder that some of the best comfort food comes from patience and heritage.Operating Hours

Ordered their Claypot Beef Brisket, it's supposed to be their signature dish. It is not cooked in a claypot, it's just served in a claypot. What's more, it costs $10. Their beef portion is pathetic. I won't complain if it tastes good, but it doesn't. So I really felt misled. Will never return.

Am having cough so the lady recommended the apple and pear pork ribs soup. The soup is naturally sweetened by the pear. Apple adds a refreshing twist. The ribs are not the frozen type and have no stench. Very tender. Must have been boiled for a long time. Highly recommended!
